Quponly: a digital loyalty card program

Small shops and restaurants mostly ran their loyalty schemes on paper stamp cards, with no digital way to manage them.

We saw room for a simple digital version that a small business could afford and that customers could use without installing another app. Quponly started as our own idea, so we were the client and the team at the same time.

Built in-house, end to end

Everything was ours: ideation, specification, UX and UI design, branding, development, the pitch deck and the social media content. We built Quponly between February and April 2025 and launched it in April.

How Quponly works

• Customers: the loyalty card lives in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, so no app is needed.

• Merchants: a reader app for collecting and redeeming rewards.

• Management: a web app for running the loyalty program.

• Sales: a pitch deck we used to sell Quponly to businesses.

The decision behind the product

Wallet cards instead of a customer app

A customer app was the other option. We put the card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet instead, because those are already on people's phones, and in our view a small shop cannot ask every customer to install something new. The cost was on our side: wallet passes have to be signed with Apple certificates, on a stack we built and ran ourselves.
