What was the problem?

ZANT is a wellbeing and mental health app for the US. People use it to find a coach or a psychologist, book a first conversation and continue with online sessions. ZANT asked us for the UX, the UI and a prototype of the app.

Our goal, in our words: make the first step easy for someone who is not yet sure what kind of help they need, and keep booking and paying simple after that.

What we delivered

Our role: UX, UI and prototype

We designed the user experience and the interface and built a prototype of the app. The work took three months in 2024. Development was not part of our scope.

How ZANT works

• Daily check-in: the app asks how the user feels and returns tailored insights.

• Finding a professional: therapists and coaches by expertise, such as mental health, ADHD, family issues or depression.

• Profiles: a bio and rates for every therapist and coach.

• Booking: a free 30-minute intro call or a full session.

• Managing sessions: rescheduling in the app, with notifications and calendar sync.

• Paying: transparent prices and pre-pay packages.

Two decisions that shaped the app

A free intro call as the first booking step

The obvious flow would have been to book a paid session straight away. We made a free 30-minute intro call the first step instead. We think people looking for mental health support often want to talk to someone before they commit, and a free call lets them check the fit. The trade-off is that the first booking brings in no revenue.

Pre-pay packages next to single sessions

Users can pay per session or buy a package of sessions in advance. We think packages suit coaching and therapy, where progress comes from regular sessions rather than a single one. A package is a bigger commitment up front, which is why every profile shows its prices before anyone books.
