What was the problem?

XMED is a private healthcare provider with its own clinic network. It wanted its digital service to do more than book appointments. The idea is prevention: patients book a doctor to treat a problem, and also for ongoing guidance through a full lifestyle change, with the app keeping them on track between visits.

Both the web patient portal and the native app needed a redesign to carry that idea. We were brought in by eHealth Software Solutions, a Budapest company that builds a modular medical framework for private and public healthcare institutions.

What we delivered

Our role: UX, UI, prototypes and testing

We designed both products, the web patient portal and the mobile app. That covered UX, UI and prototypes, which we then tested with end users. The work ran from September to November 2025 and was delivered as a detailed Figma design. Development was not part of our scope.

How the XMED app works

• Doctor booking: patients book a doctor to treat a problem or for longer guidance.

• Lifestyle programme: ongoing support from a doctor through a full lifestyle change.

• Daily habits: the app encourages healthy routines every day.

• Progress: milestones and positive reinforcement show how far a patient has come.

• Patient portal: the web side of the same service, redesigned alongside the app.

Gamification in a medical setting

The product treats doctors as long-term partners in prevention, not as someone you only call when something hurts. The design follows that. The app rewards daily habits and consistency through progress, milestones and positive reinforcement, so patients have a reason to open it between appointments.

Tested with end users

We tested the prototypes with many users. In the client's own summary, the design was measured with end-user tests and the result was very successful.
