Leasetown: a monthly car rental platform

Leasetown is an online monthly car rental platform in Budapest. We designed and built the whole system, from the booking flow to the team notifications.

What was the problem?

Leasetown needed a way to rent out cars by the month without an office. The Budapest company offers car leasing, flexible subscriptions and rentals to private customers and companies in Hungary, with all administration done online. Monthly rental, which Leasetown also calls a car subscription, is the main product.

Leasetown was a new company, so there was no real booking system to replace, only Excel sheets at most. Our goal was a booking flow customers can finish on their own, from choosing a car to paying the prepayment, with the car then brought to their door.

What we delivered

Our role: design and development of the whole system

Leasetown asked us for the UX/UI design and development of its website and app. We designed and built the whole system as one responsive web application. For the Leasetown team we connected an existing back-office admin tool instead of building a custom one. New bookings go through Make.com into Slack, so the team sees each one straight away.

Work started in April 2025 and the platform launched in December 2025. Leasetown runs the rental business itself. Our part after launch is maintaining the platform.

• Enter the pickup and drop-off dates and locations.

• Register and pass a quick KYC identity check.

• Pay the prepayment online.

• Leasetown delivers the car to your home and collects it at the end.

Two decisions that shaped the platform

Many rounds on one booking flow

We redesigned the booking flow more times than we can count, and every round had one aim: make it easier to use. A rental involves a car, a period, two locations, an identity check and a payment. In our experience each of those steps is a point where a customer can give up, so each one had to be quick.

Desktop and mobile follow different behaviour

The desktop and mobile versions differ slightly. Instead of scaling one layout down, we based each version on how people actually behaved on that platform. The cost is that every screen has two versions to keep in step.

Since launch

The platform has been live since December 2025. We maintain it, and we keep producing marketing material for Leasetown, including photos, images, videos and AI concepts.

Can you rent a car by the month online in Hungary?

Yes. On Leasetown you choose a car, set the rental period, register, pass a KYC check and pay the prepayment online. The car is delivered to your home and collected at the end.
